Product Description

Pipe groove rolling machine (often called a groover or roll groover) is a mechanical tool used to cold-form a precise, continuous groove near the end of a metal pipe. This groove is essential for use with grooved mechanical couplings and fittings (like Victaulic, Gruvlok, etc.).

The process is called cold-forming because it shapes the metal without using heat, instead using immense radial force to roll the pipe wall inward, creating a strong, work-hardened groove.

Clamp the pipe onto the chassis of the grooving machine. Start the machine. The upper roller (driving roller) exerts a huge pressure downward and, together with the roller at the bottom of the pipe, squeeges the pipe wall. Under strong pressure, the pipe undergoes plastic deformation and is squeezed out into a U-shaped groove of standard depth and width. The entire process does not require cutting or heating. It is a cold working process and will not affect the performance of the pipe material.

A：Our standard models are equipped with high-strength alloy steel rollers as standard, which are perfectly suitable for carbon steel pipes and galvanized steel pipes. For stainless steel pipes, we strongly recommend that you choose the dedicated stainless steel roller kit. Because stainless steel is harder and tougher, the dedicated rollers have undergone special heat treatment and surface treatment, which can ensure the forming quality, minimize roller wear and extend the machine's service life to the greatest extent. Please specify your purpose when placing an order.

Q：How long does it take to process a pipe opening? How efficient is its work?

A：The core advantage of the grooving process is its extremely high efficiency. The processing time mainly depends on the pipe diameter and wall thickness. For common 4-inch pipes, the entire process from clamping to completing the grooving usually only takes 2 to 3 minutes.

Q：Does operating this machine require very professional technicians?
